Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah, an Indian actress and musician well-known for her roles in Tamil as well as Malayalam films. Her first appearance as an actor was in the Tamil film Pachaikili Muthucharam, and her Malayalam debut was with Annayum's Rasoolum. Andrea Jeremiah comes from an Anglo-Indian background. She was born to a Madras High Court attorney. Her older sister is currently working and living in Leuven Belgium in the role of Research assistant. Jeremiah was born in Chennai attended National Public School. He was a graduate of Women's Christian College. Andrea, who began the classical piano at eight years old, was described as a "geek" and wanted to become a psychiatrist until the 12th grade exam. At age 10 she was an active member of the Jackson Five-style troupe called Young Stars which formed the base of her early singing and music composing career. Also, she was a theatre artist in her college and performed in a variety of productions staged in collaboration with The Madras Players and EVAM. Andrea was the President of The Women's Christian College's Student Senate. Andrea began her career in theatre with Girish Karanad's Nagamandala. Andrea was in the lead role with Shiva as a leo commercial for a coffee. In 2006, she appeared in a TV show shown on Podhigai. She has appeared in various shows across India. She played a brief character in the finale of Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005). Gautham is a character in the film. Menon contacted her following the fact that she performed a number in Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu to appear as a leading female on Pachaikili Muthucharam. This film was a film adaptation of James Siegel's novel Derailed. It featured Andrea portraying Kalyani a homemaker her husband who is caught in an affair and is threatened with blackmail. Andrea was selected to play the character following the actors Simran Shobana and Tabu were offered the role. The film was released in early 2010. In August 2011 Venkat Prabhu launched his multi-starrer Mankatha. The film was commissioned to play a minor support role. Annayum Rasoolum was Rajeev's romantic movie that was released in 2013.
