Initiated by her observation of shadows reflected in the earth, the artist spent many weeks perfecting the technique used to convey objects in two dimensions onto canvas. This way, the object is turned into an image. This is especially true for living things or those that will perish, such as fruit or even humans. Alexa's painting style has an ephemeral quality, and the only thing remaining of Alexa Meade's art is her photographs. Painting and photography are closely coordinated to create a flat two-dimensional surface that is a trompe l'oeil. Certain places three dimensions are observed, such as near the eye or the hair. Meade has also integrated her painted models within the space of 3D that surrounds them. The interaction between them as well as the world they created is possible. Thus, the boundary between painting and photography is removed.
